Special Symposium: Population Biology of Vector-borne Diseases

On February 24, 2018, the Center for the Ecology of Infectious Diseases will host a day-long symposium dedicated to the population biology of vector-borne diseases. Events will include a series of lectures by leading scientists from around the world, a poster session where non-speakers can present their work, and a catered reception.

Registration is free for UGA Affiliates and $25 for all other individuals.

Student Travel Scholarship

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED – APPLICANTS WILL BE CONTACTED BY THE END OF MONDAY 2/5/18.

 

A limited number of travel scholarships are available for graduate and undergraduate students attending the symposium.  To be eligible, you must be a US citizen or permanent resident. Selected applicants are eligible for reimbursements of up to $500 for allowable travel expenses substantiated by receipt.  Allowable travel expenses include airfare or mileage expenses, airport shuttle costs, and the costs of lodging. Center for the Ecology of Infectious Disease staff will work with selected applicants to ensure travel arrangements comply with funding guidelines.  Individuals with allowable travel expenses totaling less than $500 will be reimbursed for all allowable expenses substantiated by receipt. In the event that travel funds remain available after all scholarships are awarded, the surplus will be evenly distributed to recipients whose allowable travel expenses exceed $500.
