Giving to the CEID

Financial support from individual, foundation, and corporate partners is crucial for CEID to continue driving research and educating the next generation of scientists.  While many of our projects are funded by grants and contracts, core CEID programs and cross-disciplinary collaboration depend on special funding.  Regardless of size, your gift has an impact.

How Does Your Gift Support CEID’s Mission?

Major Goal: CEID Postdoctoral Scholars

CEID seeks to establish a competitive postdoctoral scholars program to bring the most promising early-career scientists to UGA to join our research on Ebola, Zika, Dengue and the ecology of all infectious diseases. The “postdoc” – a position similar to residency in clinical medicine – is one of the most important, but overlooked stages of scientific training. Having established core programs at the undergraduate and graduate level, CEID now seeks to launch a Postdoctoral Scholars program. Help us reach our goal of $200,000 to launch the CEID Postdoctoral Scholars in Summer 2019.

Other Needs

  • Support for the three working groups that are advancing our technical capabilities and preparing to launch the next generation of research studies
  • Support for our Disease Ecology Seminar Series that brings in outside talent, making us better scientists, facilitating collaboration, and networking our students with top infectious disease scientists from around the world
