We are pleased to introduce Dr. Scott Carver as the new Associate Director of the Center for the Ecology of Infectious Diseases.
Dr. Carver joined the Odum School of Ecology as a Professor in January 2024 and was previously an Associate Professor at the University of Tasmania. Dr. Carver has built a distinguished career with nearly twenty years of experience in infectious disease research. His research interests include disease systems impacting wildlife, domestic animals, and humans; wildlife disease control; and interdisciplinary frameworks to further our understanding of the mechanisms that drive disease. As Associate Director, he will help to expand the center’s focus on wildlife disease and enhance our engagement in field work in support of our mission.
Outside of work, Dr. Carver is quickly becoming part of the Athens community. He enjoys cycling, mountain biking, and exploring the vibrant local brewery scene. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Carver to our team. We are excited to see how his leadership will advance our projects and inspire new research directions.
